Mary's yoga journey began many years ago in Arizona but she really fell in love with yoga when she began practicing on the beach with Tonee Detweiler in 2010. Soon after that, she met Philip Christodoulou at Anuttara Yoga Shala where she attended a Raja Yoga teacher training solely to deepen her own practice. By graduation day she was overtaken by the passion to share yoga with others so she immediately signed up for the Hatha Yoga teacher training and has been teaching ever since! Her desire to share yoga with others eventually led her and her husband Domenic to create Ahh-mazing Yoga Shala on Hollywood Beach! 

Mary considers herself to be a Bhakti Yogi (a yogi of devotion); she prays daily to be a clear channel for God to use in sharing the message of yoga peace with others. Her prayer is that all beings may one day find the peace of Divine Love & Light within.

A blissful experience which relaxes the mind and releases creativity and energy. The class begins with some gentle postures to release energy then we move into Yoga Nidra directly afterward. Yoga Nidra is an ancient sleep based meditation using breath, visualization and physical techniques. During this practice you will be guided into a deep state of complete relaxation, where you can disengage from all thoughts, worry, and tension to find complete peace and stillness. Yoga Nidra provides relief from many conditions such as sleep disorders, stress, anxiety, pain, and self-defeating patterns of behavior. Also known as Yogic sleep, it is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent to 3 hours sleep. Following Yoga Nidra, practitioners find overall mood is improved; there is a sense of calmness, along with increased mental clarity and creativity. Guided Yoga Nidra is an effortless practice and suitable for anyone who wishes to experience deep rest and relaxation, and awaken to the infinite potential that lies within.
