Sammy Jenks

Samantha Jenks is a RYT200 with Yoga Alliance, with specialization in Pranayama and Yoga Nidra, located in sunny South Florida. Her passion for yoga began in 2009 when she took her first class at her local YMCA. She emphasizes on thoughtful exploration through the body and mind. With a bachelors of science in psychology, Samantha has always had the motivation and heart for helping others. Her classes are delivered in a way that leaves the practitioner feeling rejuvenated and full of personal insight. It is her passion to share and create a space that is every - body inclusive. She does this by meeting all her clients where they are at, and helping them grow and achieve goals from there. Additionally, Samantha assists private clients ranging from children, athletes, those suffering from anxiety and depression, pre/post natal mothers along with the aging and dying. She offers a series of courses and workshops all over the South Florida area. All class offered by Samantha are instructed wholeheartedly with sincere commitment to better serving her community.


Sammy Jenks instructs the following:
  • Hatha Yoga
  • Non-heated (not air-conditioned either so bring a towel just in case), suitable for all levels.

    Awaken the body, connect with the breath and feed the soul as we practice slow, mindful Hatha postures. Hatha Yoga is forceful yoga to strengthen and balance the body. When this motion is linked with breath it becomes a meditation in motion. This practice helps us become fully present to the moment, allowing connection to the peace within. Class ends with restoration and relaxation.

    Hatha is the yoga of engagement; it strengthens and balances the body. We place the main focus on pranayama (breath control) and asana (posture) alignment but we also try to incorporate as many of the other 6 limbs of Patanjali's 8 limbed path of yoga into this class.

    Expect detailed instruction; the teacher will provide modifications and variations to adjust the practice to the students' level of practice. We begin slowly setting intention, then we move into Sun Salutations to warm and activate muscle. We continue through the asanas moving the body into pose, counter pose to safely access the body and all systems.
