Ahh-mazing Yoga Shala
Suitable for all levels, gentle postures, non-heated.
This class is an intuitive flow inspired by author, Dr. Wayne Dyer's Ahh Meditation. We move through gentle postures (asanas) as we focus on pranayama (breath control). We flow in and out of meditation during the postures then conclude with an extended svasana with a guided Yoga Nidra meditation where we melt into bliss....ahh! 

Yoga Nidra is an ancient sleep based meditation using breath, visualization and physical techniques. During this practice you will be guided into a deep state of complete relaxation, where you can disengage from all thoughts, worry, and tension to find complete peace and stillness. Yoga Nidra provides relief from many conditions such as sleep disorders, stress, anxiety, pain, and self-defeating patterns of behavior. Also known as Yogic sleep, it is said that 30 minutes of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent to 3 hours sleep. Following Yoga Nidra, practitioners find overall mood is improved; there is a sense of calmness, along with increased mental clarity and creativity. Guided Yoga Nidra is an effortless practice and suitable for anyone who wishes to experience deep rest and relaxation, and awaken to the infinite potential that lies within.
We focus on pranayama (breath control) and asana (posture) alignment. Expect detailed instruction throughout the class; the teacher will provide modifications and variations to adjust the practice to the students' level of practice. Non-heated, suitable for all levels.

The full moon is a time of change, and a calm mind and body are ideal for receiving this beautiful lunar energy and using it for our expansion - completing old cycles in our lives and setting new intentions. This class is designed to help you connect more fully with your own internal rhythms as we connect with nature under the moon light. Whether you are brand new to yoga or in an advanced practice, this class is a perfect chance to tune inward, and nurture yourself through the practice of yoga.

Please try to arrive a few minutes early to check-in at Ahh-mazing Yoga Shala and walk across the broadwalk to the beach. $16 per person, no coupons or packages will be allowed for this event. Please bring cash if possible to facilitate the check-in process. Also, bring a sheet or towel to place under your yoga mat or you can borrow one from us. If you need to rent a mat, there will be a $2 charge added to the $16.

September is called the harvest moon because farmers can continue their harvest late into the night by the light of the full moon. Other names for this moon are the Wine Moon, the Elk Call Moon and the Singing Moon. A low hanging harvest moon can give an array of colors that is not usually seen. There is an added treat to watching a harvest moon; this is called moon illusion because the rising or setting moon looks bigger than when it does high in the sky.

In this very active form of Hatha Yoga, we flow through the asanas placing the focus on special placement and alignment of postures while linking movement with the breath. It is a vigorous class and we generate a good amount of heat within (tapas) so please bring a beach towel in addition to your mat or you can rent both here. ($2.00)
In this form of Hatha Yoga, we gracefully flow through the asanas focusing on special placement and alignment while linking movement with the breath.  We align with intention while strengthening the muscles and balance this body. Union of body, mind and Spirit quiets the mind. 
A style of yoga unique to Anuttara Raja Yoga certified teachers which encompasses a gravitational surrender in yoga poses that interpret the Yoga Sutras. We follow the prescriptions and dictates of our Guru Lineage of Self-Realization. Anuttara Raja Yoga hypothesizes that the plastic tissues, primarily fascia, are the vast extensions of mind through the neuro-myofascial sheaths that correspond to the meridians and the nadis (energetic channels). In Hatha Yoga we engage muscle in order to counteract gravity, whereas, in Raja Yoga we disengage muscle and surrender to gravity completely.

We suggest that you refrain from eating a large meal at least two hours prior to class. Please bring a beach towel in addition to your mat.

This class begins with Hatha Yoga, the yoga of engagement which strengthens and balances the body, then gently transforms into Anuttara Raja, the yoga of disengagement which promotes flexibility of body and mind. Suitable for all levels. We practice in a gently heated room so please bring a large towel in addition to your mat. 
Utilize gravity to balance, open and strengthen the body. Learn to defy gravity as you move through a Power Hatha Yoga Flow which can be tailored to your level of experience. As with all of our other classes, we focus on the breath (pranayama) and asana (posture) alignment.

This class is for you if you want to release stress and experience complete relaxation of body and mind; also known as “Yogic Sleep”, Nidra is a yoga meditation method that uses breath and body awareness techniques to effortlessly take you to deep relaxation where you can change your relationship to pain, stressful situations and habits. Yoga Nidra is a tool for examining, extenuating and eventually eliminating those habit patterns, which are not useful.
